Report highlights the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 in the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community in Southern California.


SoCal PICRT members 'Alisi Tulua, Rev. Pausa Thompson, Kelani Silk, and Heidi Quenga spoke with The Orange County Register to express concerns over the long-lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Southern California Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community.


In the article, "How the coronavirus is devastating Southern California’s Pacific Islanders," Rev. Thompson discusses the role of clergy during this trying time: "We as the clergy can serve as the arms and legs for medical professionals,” he said. “Our goal is to the keep the numbers as low as possible in a community that is extremely vulnerable because of our underlying health conditions and economic disparities."
